'The Voyage' at the Sheldonian Theatre, Oxford

  • Sheldonian Theatre Broad Street Oxford, OX1 3AZ United Kingdom (map)

Concert performance of an inspiring new choral work by popular composer Bob Chilcott, conducted by the composer.  Performed by Oxfordshire Schools’ Singers, the Voyage  Choir (specially formed for this event) and Choros, ‘The Voyage’ evokes our lifelong journey through loneliness with beautiful, melodious writing for the three choirs separately and together.  The concert is the climax of a charitable project, dedicated to the 'Campaign to End Loneliness’, tackling exclusion and loneliness amongst the old and the young alike.

The programme also includes the first performance of a percussion concerto by John Traill with the Oxford County Youth Orchestra and soloists Joint Venture Percussion Duo.
